Week 3 Reflection

     This week learning about block coding was mind blowing. Before this assignment I did not know a thing about coding. When I watched the video introducing block coding, I was not sure how I would get through this assignment. However, once I dived in and began to create my dance party, I found myself having fun doing this assignment. This assignment will have an enormous impact in my journey towards being an educator. Block coding is a great tool to use to teach students problem solving and critical thinking. An assignment like this can really get students interested and engaged in STEM subjects. Coding can even spark students' interest to pursue a technology/STEM based career. This can spark an interest in technology that can result in a positive learning atmosphere for the classroom.  

Block coding can deepen the educational experience by making lessons fun and exciting. Assignments like this can get students engaged and excited to learn modern technologies. This type of assignment allows students to work hands-on and collaboratively sharing ideas with classmates. This can result in students taking interest in similar subjects like science, physics, and math. For educators, an assignment like this can create an exciting learning environment where students learn essential 21st-century skills that they get to use in the future.
